JNL Engineering Ltd announce that they will again be providing sponsorship for Oli throughout the 2014 season.
After a long winter break fifteen year old Oli returns to contest the 2014 FEKC Junior Max, a more competitive class and of a higher age group.
Saturday practice goes well – Oli ends up being third quickest by the end of the day.
Sunday (Race Day)
Heat 1 – Oli get’s a clean start from sixth place on the grid, makes up a few places and finishes third only to be disqualified in Parc Ferme after the race for having a minute amount of lubricant seep into the clutch drum!
Heat 2 – Starts in eleventh position, drives well and gets up to third, drops back and finishes ninth.
Heat 3 – Oli starts in third place only to get tapped off going into the first corner, rejoins the track in last position and fights back to ninth.
This amount of bad luck means only one thing – starting from the back row of the grid! Just when things could not get any worse, the two karts in front break down on the warm up lap blocking Oli for several seconds whilst the rest of the field get clean away! Towards the end of the race Oli actually managed to catch and get passed a few others but the race should never have been started in those circumstances.
